“Dover Grammar School for Girls is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people. It expects all staff and visitors to share in this commitment.“

Parents Area

We welcome parent involvement in all that our students engage with, for education is a true partnership. In this area, you can find details of all our policies, our term dates and those letters which might just have got themselves lost in bags, pockets and by the process of natural selection as performed by talented young people!

Hard copies of results, policies, staff lists, letters, our Link magazine, and descriptions of the curriculum throughout the school are available by emailing enquiries@dggs.kent.sch.uk or calling reception. The Head welcomes contact from all parents and can be emailed at headteacher@dggs.kent.sch.uk or may be seen with an appointment (which can usually be within 24 hours) by contacting his PA, Ms Kim O'Brien.

Parental views matter to us, as do the ideas and views expressed by students at the student forum. We regularly survey parents for their views on how they feel the school is meeting the needs and ambitions of their children. We publish these results in our Link magazine, and make all survey results known to governors to inform our strategic planning.

Parents play a key role through the PFA (Parents and Friends Association). Any parent or friend who feels that they would like to help us, is invited to contact emmalyons@dggs.kent.sch.uk who will arrange for you to be invited to an event or meeting.

We try to keep the community informed of our activities through ensuring that the local press is told of student successes and achievements. If you want to visit, please contact us. If you feel you can offer to assist us in providing this very special educational opportunity for girls in Dover, we'd love to hear from you.
