Headteacher Matthew Bartlett was guest of honour at the Geographical Assocation annual conference awards at Surrey University over the Easter Holidays. He was there to pick up the Centre of Excellence Award, granted to only four secondary schools in the country. The award recognises the exceptional work and results of the whole Geography team.
Jo Arman, Head of Geography was not able to be present because she was leading some forty students on a field trip to Italy and Slovenia. Matthew Bartlett commented 'this makes it a hat trick of top awards for DGGS this year, having already been awarded as one of the top schools nationally by the SSAT for our KSIV results and also for having one of the highest CVA's countrywide, to get a third national award marks a further triumph in this our centenary year
